New Jersey Myths and Monsters with Tim Meyer

0

The Monster Men are happy to welcome author Tim Meyer to the show as he takes us on a journey to the creepy side of New Jersey. Tim is a long time friend of the show and one hell of a writer. We are so happy to finally have him on.

To help celebrate the release of Hunter’s new book, THE JERSEY DEVIL, Tim and Hunter recently co-hosted a book-signing event in a microbrewery in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. It does not get much cooler than that. This got us thinking that the Garden State probably deserved a show dedicated to all of it’s bizarre legends and monsters. And who better to guide us than Tim?

Tim Meyer has an impressive body of work, which you should check out as soon a you can. His books include the short story collection, “Worlds Between My Teeth” as well as novels like IN THE HOUSE OF MIRRORS, LESS THAN HUMAN, THE THIN VEIL, the SUNFALL series and the DEMON BLOOD series.

It started with a simple premise: two buddies talking horror, as they would in a bar. Simple, spontaneous, sometimes spooky and often silly.

0

Cursed Men, Fallen Angels and the ever present shadow of death. On this new Monster Men we welcome back our buddy Keith Rommel. The movie of his book The Cursed Man is coming soon, and you won’t want to miss his other novels.

Keith is an award winning author, screenwriter and all around great guy. He’s definitely a Monster Man. Keith authored the critically acclaimed dark suspense Thanatology Series which includes The Cursed Man, The Lurking Man and The Sinful Man. (As well as the upcoming novel, The Silent Woman.) He has also dabbled in psychological crime with the fast-paced You Killed My Brother and the mythological novel entitled Among The People. Among the People tells the story of a fallen angel hiding on Earth, and the terrible secret he discovered in hell.

Keith is the co-screenplay writer for The Cursed Man movie being produced as a major motion picture under the same title. Coming soon. No doubt, the Monster Men will be first in line.

The Cursed Man Meets The Monster Men: Keith Rommel Interview

0

The Monster Men are very happy to present an interview with author Keith Rommel. This was one of our favorite episodes we have ever recorded. We are sure you’re going to enjoy it.

Keith is the author of THE CURSED MAN, an incredibly original, creepy and entertaining book that is also currently in production as a movie. It’s a great read. This, along with his other books, THE LURKING MAN and the upcoming THE SINFUL MAN, are part of his Thanatology Series. The Encyclopedia Britannica defines Thanatology as “the description or study of death and dying and the psychological mechanisms of dealing with them.” That should set the stage for you.

Here’s the description for THE CURSED MAN:

Alister Kunkle believes death is in love with him.  A simple smile from friend or stranger is all it takes to encourage death to kill.

With his family deceased and a path of destruction behind him, Alister sits inside a mental institution, sworn to silence and separated from the rest of the world, haunted by his inability to escape death’s preferential treatment.

But when a beautiful psychologist arrives at the institution and starts offering him care, Alister braces himself for more killings.  When none follow, he tries to figure out whether he truly is insane or if death has finally come to him in the form of a woman.

Keith is a fantastic author and a person to keep your eye on. His work is turning a lot of heads and is being described as being in the spirit of Stephen King. High praise indeed.

Keith is also great guy and has absolutely cemented his place as a Monster Man. As you watch this interview, you can’t help but like him. He’s friendly, entertaining and quite candid. We learned the stories behind his books as well as what it’s like to have one of your novels made into a film. It is fascinating. We also partake in some great horror movie and TV talk, as is par for the course on the Monster Men video podcast.

For all things Keith Rommel, visit his website at http://keithrommel.weebly.com and pick up his books on Amazon.
