Bon Appetit, boys and ghouls! In keeping with our tradition of celebrating Halloween with a Pumpkin Ale episode, we present our Halloween Extravaganza. This year we are pair an odd assortment of October themed alcoholic drinks with an equally quirky array of Fall flavored foods. All while we pair an lesser known horror movie with an old favorite.

Some things on the menu include pumpkin whisky & soda, toasted marshmallow seltzer, pumpkin pasta, Halloween Peeps and Monster Mash cereal.

You may call it Octoberfest, but around here we call it Horrortoberfest.

Horrortober is here and that means it’s time to start watching horror movies as much as you can. As usual, the Monster Men are here to help. We’ve got 31 movies for the 31 days of October. We have rolled an amazing watch list using the dice game/book, 31 Days of Terror. This is the official horror movie handbook for all serious fright film fanatics.

Our pal, author Steve Hutchison, continues to set the bar, adding new movies and a couple of new star contributors. That’s right, the year Jack and Hunter have been added to the roster and are included in the book. We are thrilled to be in such esteemed, creepy company. How does the game work? Easy. Just roll the dice and follow the book as it takes you into a dark labyrinth of films. Watch us unveil our list and use it… or better yet, buy a copy of the book and set your own October viewing list. Or if you are just looking for an extensive, curated list of horror movies to help you find something to watch anytime, this is for you.

Halloween in Quarantine & 1978 Horror Movies – Monster Men Ep: 161

It’s Halloween time again, but times have changed and so must we. Thanks to the pandemic, Halloween will look a little different this year, and so does our Halloween episode. We have done it remotely, as is the case with most things in 2020… but that does not stop us from having fun. This time we discuss and celebrate the horror movies 1978, the year the John Carpenter’s Halloween came out. It was quite a year for the genre. Plus, throughout the conversation we talk about some of the ways you can enjoy Halloween while still staying safe.

So, pull up some candy corn and join us as we celebrate our favorite holiday. And don’t forget to get yourself a Monster Men shirt, hoodie or mug at our TeePublic store. Go to http://tee.pub/lic/S9-0-iRSDP8 and don’t forget to post a pic and tag us once you have your swag.

The Paul Lynde Halloween Special – Monster Men Ep: 160

0

In this knee-slapper of an episode, the Monster Men take the center square for the win. What better way to start Horrortober than a trip back to that magical era where every star had their own variety show? And what better show to unearth than the Paul Lynde Halloween Special from 1976? It’s a cavalcade of stars surrounding the master comic who looked like someone had a gun to his head from start to finish. The jokes may fall flatter than Jack and Hunter’s ass cheeks, but the unintentional humor is hysterical. Come join Paul and his witchy friends as they’re joined by the likes of Florence Henderson, Betty White, Pinky Tuscadero, Tim Conway and…wait for it…KISS (who perform 3 songs because we guess the writers ran out of corny jokes)!

Hunter also reviews a fun Halloween read, Creature Feature, by Steven Paul Leiva (you can get it on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Creature-Featu…) and Jack recommends – Monster Carnival, an anthology of classic and rare tales of horror collected and edited by William P. Simmons. Find more at https://twitter.com/SimmonsOfNight.
