Monster Men Ep. 108: Gene Wilder Tribute and “The Scream Effect”

This episode of Monster Men is dedicated to the legendary Gene Wilder, a comic genius and all-around beloved figure. When we heard the sad news of his passing, we had no choice but to sit down and reflect on his amazing career and all of the joy he brought us over the years. His filmography is amazing. He has been is some of the greatest and most popular movies of all time, including probably the greatest horror-comedy of all time, Young Frankenstein. Of course, he will truly live forever as Willie Wonka, a character that is both lovable and kind of terrifying at the same time. He and Mel Brooks also collaborated on another all-time classic, Blazing Saddles, but the list of hits does not stop there. Let’s not forget Silver Streak, The Producers, Stir Crazy, See No Evil, Hear No Evil and many more.

Then we move onto the main topic of the day… The Scream Effect. The movie Scream may have a large following and is credited for being a groundbreaking film, however we feel it paved the way for a whole generation of poor horror movies. You may agree with us, you may think we’re crazy. Either one is fine with us. We’re pretty sure you’ll get a few laughs. Check it out and let us know what you think.
